No, I don't live in Florida. I'm in the middle of a kitchen redo. So far we have had the cabinets refaced and painted the walls. This Friday we're getting a new floor put in and in order to save $250 we decided to tear out the old floor ourselves.

We had to tear up the floor because we knew there were at least 2 layers already down. Another layer up and our refrigerator won't fit under our cabinets. We dug up the top vinyl floor, a thin wood subfloor, Armstrong tile floor and the then a Congoleum floor (which was laid by the original owners of the home). THREE LAYERS! Then I found another layer under that of some 70s style Linoleum. 4 LAYERS? We stopped at three layers.

The real pain was the staples that held in the wood sublfoor. We had to individually pull each one out in order to get the Armstrong floor out. The white part you see is what's left of the Armstrong tiles. The brown is the third layer which will be torn out too.

This is what we started from.

...you know, if I actually cooked, that would be a really nice kitchen to work in. Also, I almost bought that dinette, but in black w/wood top.

    ...waitaminnit, I am forgetting something...hmmm...

...oh, yeah! *wraps linoleum around Fluff's head, staples it to his skull, waits to see if injury or suffocation kills him first*

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Oh crap SW! We have multiple projects going on and I forgot about that! The roofing went fine. We ended up going with the ridge vents after all. Their clean up left a little bit to be desired though. I still found quite a few nails on the ground and on my deck plus my gutters were full of crap! I'll get you pics in a bit.
